Poetry and Art

Adjacent to my scholarly work, I also write poetry. From 2009, I have published poetry in online and print journals, chapbooks and anthologies, such as Eclectica, The Literary Bohemian, Coldnoon Travel Poetics, Muse India, Indulgence Zine, ASH and The Four Quarters magazines, among others. My work has won the Poetry with Prakriti prize (2009), and I was a finalist for The Jon Stallworthy Prize (University of Oxford, 2018).

Over the past three years, my creative practice has also included art. My art usually takes the form of sketchbook practice and art journalling, where I mix media such as watercolours, gouache, ink, poster colours, and coloured pencils. From 2023, I have also incorporated my art work alongside my poetry in my zine-making practice. I am currently working towards a collection of illustrated poems.
